Welcome to The Castle Pub & Dining, an award-winning, beautifully authentic, unfussy gastro pub and restaurant, serving freshly prepared, quality food, in the heart of Farnham's vibrant town centre at No. 5 Castle Street.

The bar and lounge area offers a relaxing haven on the high street, with various nooks, corners and seating to suit cocktails, coffees and work-from-the-pub afternoons. Our dining room enjoys a bright and airy feel, with a stunning central skylight, and large windows throughout. Venture out onto our peaceful, covered courtyard garden; a tranquil oasis within the bustle of town life.

The first floor is dedicated to stylish private dining, featuring three unique spaces: The Drawing Room, The Library and The Study. Each room offers elegance and versatility accommodating intimate dinner parties, special events and business meetings.

We're open 7 days a week, serving up a seasonal menu with pub favourites, and a daily changing specials board featuring fresh produce from our wonderful suppliers. Our skilful chefs use the finest seasonal ingredients to curate dishes that celebrate authentic gastropub cooking, bringing a contemporary twist to the nation's favourite foods.

"After a longer drive due to diversions caused by roadworks, we were very much looking forward to this meal, and we weren’t disappointed. The staff were friendly, polite and attentive and the food was excellent. We chose the midweek menu and there was plenty of choice. The meal was very good value and the ambience was lovely. The Christmas decorations were beautifully and tastefully done. I would highly recommend a visit 😊"

Very nice Sunday roast dinner, great service and atmosphere…

"Our first ever visit here, we were just in town and looking for something to eat for Sunday dinner. Arriving mid-afternoon we found the place pretty busy but unlike a couple of other places we looked at it didn’t look crammed and noisy. When finding a seat, ordering at the bar and being served the service was excellent, such a change from so many regular pubs.

Our Sunday roast dinners were both great too, nicely rare beef, plenty of vegs and very nice batter puds and gravy and I finished off my partners ½ roast chicken for her too.

Very nice place to eat or sit and have a couple of drinks, cosy and friendly. Would definitely visit again.

Excellent Lunch

"We had not been to this venue for many years, but thought we would give it a try in its new guise as the Castle. My wife and I went for lunch with a friend and I must say had a very pleasant experience. We all had three different courses and it was all excellent, the sticky toffee pudding is to die for! The service was efficient and friendly. My one minor criticism is that it could have been a little warmer, especially in the toilets, but I seem to recall that this building always was a little less than cosy.

Amazing experience

"We visited The Castle in September for my daughter's birthday in the private dining rooms and had a fantastic evening, everything was just so easy - because of this, we booked again for a celebration lunch today and again service and food was excellent! The private dining experience is so worth it and adds that extra special feeling to any occasion - MASSIVE thanks to Demelza and team for another lovely outing - can’t rate you guys enough 🫶🏻"

Go-to place for Sunday roasts

"This is now our go-to for Sunday roast and last Sunday we were, again, not disappointed. I had some family visiting from abroad and this was the perfect way to showcase the Sunday roast culture of the UK. Meat was tasty, roast potatoes perfectly done and the cauliflower cheese was very tasty. The staff went out of their way to attend to us. Thanks again, looking forward to the next visit."
